Drug Court Program Description

The requirements for each phase are based on individual needs. Phase advancement depends upon successful completion of requirements. The program will last approximately 18 to 24 months and will be divided into 5 phases. Phases and minimum requirements include:

Phase I - Assessment & Treatment (Minimum 12 weeks)

  • Intake Screening
  • Full assessment
  • Residential/Detoxification as necessary
  • Group 3 times per week
  • Individual/Family therapy 2 hours per week
  • Court 3 times per month (or as required)
  • Call UA hotline daily
  • Self Help/ 12 Step meetings (AA/NA/CA etc.)
  • Begin planning for work, school or community service, if not incompliance
  • Random contact by trackers
  • One weekly meeting with Probation Officer

Phase II - Primary Treatment (Minimum 18 weeks)

  • Group 2 times per week
  • Individual/Family therapy 1.5 hours per week
  • Court 2 times per month (or as required)
  • Call UA hotline daily
  • Self Help/ 12 Step meetings (AA/NA/CA etc.) 2 meetings minimum a week required
  • Begin working with 12 step sponsor
  • Begin work on education/employment (community service will be required in lieu of a job)
  • Random contact by trackers
  • One weekly meeting with Probation Officer

Phase III - Treatment (Minimum 14 weeks)

  • Group 1 time per week
  • Individual/Family therapy 1 hour per week
  • Court 1 - 2 times per month
  • Call UA hotline daily
  • Self Help/ 12 Step meetings (AA/NA/CA etc.) 4 meetings per week minimum
  • Making progress with 12 step sponsor
  • Must be working or in school full time or a combination of work and school
  • Random contact with trackers
  • One meeting every two weeks with Probation Officer

Phase IV - Maintenance (Minimum 8 weeks)

  • Outpatient treatment 1 day per week
  • Court 1 - 2 times every month
  • Call UA hotline daily
  • Self Help/ 12 Step meetings (AA/NA/CA etc.) 4 meetings per week minimum
  • Continue to progress with 12 step work with sponsor
  • Random contact with trackers
  • One monthly meeting with Probation Officer

Phase V – Maintenance (individualized, until next graduation ceremony)

  • Sign up for the Aftercare Program – attendance is a voluntary commitment as agreed upon between participant and counselor
  • Monthly participation in Alumni Association until Graduation
  • One meeting monthly with Probation Officer at Probation Office
  • Call UA hotline (different phone number than other phases) daily
  • Random UA testing with Probation Officer
  • Random contact by Trackers

Graduation Requirements

Requirements for completing each phase of the program are based on standardized criteria with flexibility for individualized treatment needs.

Graduation requirements include:

  • Completion of all treatment and supervision phases of the program
  • No positive drug tests for a minimum of 8 months
  • Have been employed successfully for a minimum of 4 months or attending school full time
  • Completion of 40 hours of community service minimum
  • Completed payment of all monthly $100 drug court program fee on all cases and all Tri-County co-pays
  • Child support payments, if any, are current and all arrearages have been paid or an approved payment plan established
  • Complete Hi-Set or job skills training as applicable
