Public Administrator's Office

The Public Administrator serves as a "Public Guardian and Conservator" for people who are declared incapacitated by the Probate Division of the Circuit Court. The incapacitation of a ward may have its origin in a mental illness, mental retardation, dementia, head trauma, alcoholism, anomie, drug addiction, etc...

There are approximately 350 people in Clay County, Missouri under guardianship and conservatorship with the Public Administrator's Office.

To provide fiduciary integrity in the management of all entrusted estate funds and provide an empowering environment conducive to health, affirmation and growth that promotes feelings of dignity, security, hope and fulfillment in the individual. The Public Administrator's office operates in accordance with the statutes of the State of Missouri.
